Welcome to the Jungle (aka 2008)

Phew! It's been a busy past few weeks. What's new, right?

2007 was a pretty good year. I have a feeling '08 will be great too. There are a lot of fun events on the horizon including but not limited too a new president (thank god!), a family reunion in Maui (!!!!), many friends with many fun events coming up in their lives, and reaching the true mid-way point in p-school in just a few short months (one day at a time). Here's hoping the new year brings you lots of happy times. Happy 2008!

So, christmas: I spent the actual holiday here in LR with my Mom and family. It was a pretty standard christmas except for the fact that I had to work on Christmas day (which sucked) and which led us to do most of the celebrating on the Eve. My younger sister was most pleased because this meant she got to open her gifts that evening. Normally we have to wait until x-mas morning after "santa" has made his stop at our house. My favorite gift was the one I gave to Bruno (Katie's dog). (The photo is a little blurry...if anyone out there can take a clear picture of a 6-month old pomeranian, you win a tropy!)

He's a Pomareindeer!

He loved it! Can't you tell?

On the 26th, it was off to the great north (aka, Minnesota) to spend some holiday time with my dad and his family. Luckily they had a decent amount of snow there this year. It was a joy to spend a few days in a true winter atmosphere.

New Years for us this year was pretty quiet. I flew home the day before, so I was still worn out from traveling. We just cooked up a nice dinner (salmon, asparagus, and a salad) and then had some dessert and champagne at midnight and then hit the hay. True old fart style! (at least we stayed up til midnight).

Now I'm just enjoying the next few days before my next round of brain olympics begins. (School starts back a week from today!) Here's to the new year and hoping that we all have lots of good health, happiness, and continued friendship. Cheers everyone!
