Adventures in Pharmacy Torture....err, I Mean School

My internship is OVER! ("Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh" = angelic chorus singing in the background). The people I worked with were really nice and I'm glad I got to see what it was like in a retail setting, but needless to say I'm 99.9999999% sure I will not be working in retail pharmacy upon graduation in two years. Oh yeah, that reminds me: I'M OFFICIALLY HALF WAY THROUGH P-SCHOOL!!! Thank the lord.

Here are some of the things I learned over these last four weeks:

*Some people are just rude for no reason. Don't throw money at me or argue with me or yell at me unless I've done something to deserve it please.

*Some people are really smelly. Do they realize how badly they smell??

*Elderly people seem to fall into three categories: really nice, really cranky, or really out there.

*Never ever take a managerial position as a pharmacist. They make you do a lot of annoying, useless crap that would drive me insane.

*People hate their insurance and unfortunately their insurance usually hates them too. These ill feelings tend to be taken out on pharmacists.

*Viagra and like drugs are really expensive ($10-15 per pill) and men are willing to pay cash for it (insurance usually doesn't cover). I guess I can't blame them.

*When Kroger says it offers 300 generic drugs for $4.00, that doesn't mean all generic drugs known to mankind available on the market are $4.00. People had a really hard time understanding this one. "But it's generic...."

*A lot of people take pain pills. A LOT. It was sometimes hard to say if they were using them out of medical necessity or not and I don't want to assume incorrectly because chronic pain is something that is real, but sometimes you wonder.

*Working in a grocery store is fun. You can go get a snack whenever you want.

*Be nice to your pharmacist. They take a lot of crap.

HOOOORAY for being done with that part! AND halfway through P School. That is amazing. I'm so proud.
I liked your list. And, may I say, Vicodin is currently my best friend. ;) Love ya!

Aw, I sure wanted to catch you there on one of my grocery trips.

Congrats on making it to the halfway point. Can we hang out soon? I need some relief from the stressful life that is caring for a sickly cat...
